we ended up at the camera shop the other day to repair (or buy a new lens) for our nikon. while there, i asked about little pocket cameras. it's so hard for me to lug around a big camera along with a baby and all the rest of our daily gear. (plus, there was the sandy beach episode). the salesperson showed us his favorite - an older model that happened to be on sale that day for $99. while we are usually pretty particular when it comes to cameras, and we're pretty crazy about doing research on anything before buying (hello, consumer reports), we were 90 minutes from home with a fussy little one and $99 sounded just right. so we got it. on recommendation only. it's funny the things we do now (or don't do) since mateo.
we haven't used it too much yet (see mateo above, and unica at the msu dog wash). it's definitely slower than what we're used to and not as sharp but it is so, so nice to have a light little camera in my purse and not have to worry about messing up our nice ones.
i tried taking a video with it and this is what came out. i am new to video. anyone have any recommendations for learning how to edit them? i've only learned a little from the free apple tutorials for imovie. anyways, here it is. it's hard to hear my recorded voice. so please ignore all the "mira mami"'s and clicks that usually make him smile. :)

Look at the little guy!! I can't wait to meet him! p.s. I love that you guys are raising him bilingual! Rod and I are going to try, so we'll see how we do.
