so 5 months after our original offer was accepted, we finally closed on tuesday!
we signed and initialed mountains of paperwork, we were told "congratulations!", and then took some celebratory photos. then as people were getting up to leave we became a little confused and asked "um, what about the keys?".
apparently in michigan or with foreclosures or some other unknown reason, we couldn't get the keys for another 24-48 hours. so we waited a little longer.

below is a photo of the two of us with our awesome realtor, cathy rosario. she was amazing to work and fight for us so hard and so long. she is super honest and was all about us getting the lowest price possible. and she fearfully dealt with the bank's agent who was seriously shady and slimey.

so yesterday we finally got the keys! we've been moving over the odds and ends in between swimming and errands and classes and presentations. luke's friends are joining him tomorrow to move all of the rest out of storage since his 8-months-pregnant wife can't carry much.

this last shot is one of our favorites - to remind us later how the first house we ever bought had been condemned. we love it.

Aww that's the cutest post! Congratulations
