our first days in our new house have been great. it's been really amazing living and waking up in a new place. it's still covered in spiderwebs and dust since it's been empty for a year, and we don't have much furniture yet since so it's impossible to unpack many boxes. but somehow it's already feeling like home.
saturday and sunday we moved with the help of two of luke's friends. they faithfully trucked back and forth from the moving truck to the house through heavy rain.
monday and tuesday has been full of house projects. more about them later. but it's definitely not an exaggeration to say that everywhere we look, we see more things that need to be done. paint, cracks in walls, holes here and there... a lot of work ahead of us.
we've had several neighbors come by and they all have great things to say about the street. it seems like there is really a huge sense of community here. we are looking forward to may, when there is a street cleanup and then a bonfire and outdoor movie to follow.
unica seems to be ok... she is scared and nervous and shaking a lot still, but hopefully she'll get more relaxed soon. we are all so exausted that the three of us (the baby was awake and kicking unica through my belly) fell asleep all cuddled together early yesterday afternoon for a family nap.

ReplyDeletepoor puppy. not uncommon though. if any animals knows how to adapt, though, it's dogs.
